Welcome to Clarity Counselling Ilkley
Feeling stuck, lost or overwhelmed?
Maybe you are having problems in your relationship?
Perhaps you need support in exploring your own ways of behaving and relating with other people; or it may be that you are feeling a sense of emptiness and unfulfillment and are looking for clearer direction and life meaning.
In truth all of us experience difficulties in our life at some stage and need some help to find a new direction. Counselling offers an opportunity to focus exclusively on you and your feelings, where you can be heard, understood and taken seriously.
Investing in yourself and putting yourself first is a big step in creating a happier, more fulfilling life. Trying to cope alone can often result in us going around in circles for weeks, months, or even years, ending up just where we were before. Counselling aims to provide an opportunity to meet your true self, realise that you are good enough and where you can learn how to be happy in your relationships with others.
Clarity Counselling in Ilkley is run by Anita Dunford and Cheryl Chapman who are professionally trained counsellors and psychotherapists, registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). Both are committed to providing counselling, and psychotherapy, in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.
Anita and Cheryl work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. Counselling and Psychotherapy is a process that you will be actively engaged in. Anita and Cheryl understand that talking openly about how you feel may feel uncomfortable, embarrassing and sometimes painful but will seek to provide an environment where you will feel safe and supported without judgement.
Some Reasons That People Seek Counselling
Others look for support at times off distress. Major life events such as bereavement, divorce, separation, terminal illness, job loss or retirement can cause extreme distress. Counselling aims to provide support to help you deal with the vast array of emotional feelings which you may be experiencing, and support you adjust to the changes in your life.
The challenges of family and other relationships are frequent reasons that people seek counselling. Counselling can help you strengthen and develop your communication skills, and look at ways to resolve conflict in your relationships.
You may wish to understand yourself and gain an awareness of why you feel as you do and perhaps find meaning in your life. This self -awareness can help you take control of your life and is useful in determining future relationships, career plans, and personal goals.
