How can counselling help me?
People come to counselling for a variety of different reasons. Counselling provides an opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe environment with someone who will listen without judgement. Within the safety of the relationship with a counsellor there will be the opportunity to increase your self-awareness and understanding of how you exist in the world. This awareness provides the opportunity to explore and identify options for change to suit you and your situation.
What happens once I decide that counselling may help me?
Once you have decided that counselling may help, we would suggest contacting us to arrange a meeting to discuss your reasons for seeking counselling. This initial session gives you the opportunity to ask questions and to decide whether you wish to proceed and arrange some future appointments. You may know at this first session that you wish to proceed with some sessions but you may feel that you need some time to think it over before making a commitment. This initial meeting also allows Cheryl or Anita to assess whether they are able to help with your particular situation. Should you wish to proceed a regular date and time will be agreed. JUSTIFY>
How much does it cost?
The cost of each session is £40 and is payable by cash or cheque at the start of each session. Bank transfers are also accepted. Each session is 50 minutes duration.
How many sessions will I need?
Each individual is different and has different concerns. Some people feel the benefits of counselling after a few sessions, whilst others may feel that they have longer term concerns which they may decide to spend some time working on. Nothing is set in stone. We offer regular reviews to ensure that we are meeting your individual needs.
What if I’m unable to attend my session?
If you rearrange or cancel within 48 hours notice of your appointment there is no charge. However, cancellations of less than 48 hours would normally incur the full appointment fee.
Our work will be strictly confidential unless you share that you are likely to cause harm or danger to yourself or anyone else in which case we would endeavour to speak with you first.
